Elisenpalais Clinic – Anesthesia and Surgery Center

The factors surrounding an operation (for example, scope of the treatment, health of the patient, inflammation in the area where the operation is to be performed, insufficient analgesia using local anesthetic, and anxiety) can in many cases make it necessary to treat a patient under analgo sedation or sometimes general anesthetic.

Colleagues from the Anesthesia and Surgery Center at the Elisenpalais Clinic are responsible for administering the analgesia and sedation. These colleagues are:

  • Dr. med. Jürgen Hein

  • Dr. med. Kurt Schilling

  • Hans-Werner Basse

  • Dr. med. univ. Mario Oberreiter

  • Norbert Pratz

  • Thomas Nörrenberg

Only after sedation do patients receive a local anesthetic, so they are not usually aware of having a needle inserted. The anesthetist monitors the patient during the operation and in the subsequent post-anesthetic recovery phase. Relatives or accompanying persons may already sit beside the patient in the recovery room.

We have been working with our colleagues from the Elisenpalais Clinic to jointly care for patients for almost 20 years now, and we enjoy friendly, collegial, and highly successful collaborations. These set the cornerstone for our work and we would therefore like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to our Elisenpalais colleagues!
